This is Ryan: dancer, creative generalist and man bun pro. Now, you may remember Ryan from his guest post about men’s fashion essentials if you’ve been reading for a while, but if you don’t, you can find it here. Ryan is an incredibly talented and busy individual but in addition to contributing his words of wisdom he was also kind enough to make time for a styling session a while back.
Ryan and I met at work, and I knew him originally as “Fleece Jesus” (because he worked on fleece product and those flowing locks speak for themselves…). Since then I’ve been able to watch as he’s taken on new and exciting opportunities and I wanted to showcase his chameleon nature during out session together by showing off the different sides of his closet.
For his first look I went with something that felt very street wear inspired. A bleached out hoodie over a longline tee, slim jeans and combat boots. This is an outfit that can take him from teaching a hip-hop class to going out with friends easily and the layering is crucial for switching it up as you work up a sweat or run out into a cool evening.
For this next look I wanted something a bit softer. This jean jacket, printed shirt, long necklace and bright sneaker were a great juxtaposition and felt right for chilling in the park at an outdoor concert or grabbing coffee at the new hip spot in town.
(Side note. Ryan was incredibly good at knowing his angles, made our jobs too easy!)
I had so much fun playing in Ryan’s closet and finding all the quirky and fun pieces he collects. What is your favorite piece in your closet?
