This is Lauryn; she's a Yelp review queen, red lipstick gal and Anthony Bourdain super fan (seriously, she has a signed photo on her wall!). Lauryn is the person you go to when you need a recommendation for a new place to check out for dinner and drinks, validation on your sunglass purchase and or girl chat over a glass of wine.
For her first look I wanted to pick something casual and fun that showed off her personality. Lauryn is a statement maker, everything she puts on has a point and this tee just spoke to my soul a bit. The pink, the rhinestones, the graphic... Love it! I also love this skirt on her, she has great legs and kills it at the gym so showing off all that hard work and adding the fringe booties was prime.
I wanted to do a fun, fancy date night look for Lauryn next. This skirt had great shine and floated wonderfully on body, and it reminded me of something a mutual favorite of ours, Blake Lively, would wear. I loved how it moved and emphasized her gestures, and I appreciate any garment that can become an extension of you, which always manages to look chic. This strappy top, jacket and heels add a bit of punch and grounded the look nicely.
This next outfit I picked as a transitional outfit. She's wearing a white sweater crop top but for her dreamy sales job she could easily swap out a blouse and it would work just as well! This velvet jacket is a fun personality piece while still having enough structure to pass as a blazer for work. I paired these with the best high rise (and I mean HIGH rise, they are the highest rise you can buy at the denim boutique she purchased them at!) which are so flattering on everybody, but especially her :)
I typically pull three outfits for my styling sessions but with Lauryn I knew I needed to really bring the drama for a look. This last one is colorful, easy to pull together and pops against anything she could be surrounded by. Perfect for a lady that wants to draw attention and feel confident (looking at these pictures you can tell she's feeling this outfit too, which gives me all the warm fuzzies!). Since Lauryn is petite at 5'4", I wanted to make sure she looked balanced from top to bottom so I pulled the jeans from the above ensemble to balance out her pleated top. The finishing touch was these bright pink Barbie heels that tied back to the top perfectly.
Lauryn is great at pulling focus and is never afraid of being overdressed which lends her to the unique and colorful. Tell me about your favorite standout piece in your closet in the comments below :)
