This is Amy; she is the definition of a social butterfly (I swear, girlfriend knows EVERYONE!), is always laughing, and she is quite possibly the proudest Canadian I know. She is such a happy soul and I was so stoked to work with her for this session!
Side note... Amy could also pass for my younger sister's stunt double for many reasons: not only are they both curvy babes with blonde hair and infectious smiles but Amy also kicks ass and teaches group fitness classes! #coachamy
For Amy's first look I tapped into her massive collection of athleisure and athletic clothing. She is serious "gym inspo" so I needed to show off that part of her style. I paired a awesome pair of tights with sheer panels with a cropped hoodie and some flashy sneakers for the perfect grab and go gym outfit. (It should be noted that when we took these photos it was hella cold out, so she gets points for being a tough broad wearing a crop in chilly weather!) This look is great because you can easily wear it to the gym, to the juice bar and to to walk your dog, without looking like you are still attending that college whose logo is emblazoned across your usual go-to ratty gym tee.
As a general rule, a good pair of athletic leggings can serve many purposes in a smaller wardrobe, obviously as workout attire but also for more casual errand/lazy days. Just make sure they pass the squat test: no see-through leggings as pants! Don't be afraid of crazy prints or colors either, I chose black with sheer for Amy but I can very much dig a nice bright legging or some cool pattern when rocked with confidence!
Real talk, girl has got some amazing legs! I have always been a bit low key jealous, as mine resemble popsicle sticks... So I really wanted to find a flirty little dress to show off one of my favorite features of Amy's. The way the ruffles on this one move subtly and highlight her legs really does amazing things. I also love the balance on this dress, showing a bit more leg but with a long sleeve. Balance is key.
This last outfit came about when I was rummaging around for a jacket. She got the lightbulb moment face, ran in the other room and grabbed this magnificent fur coat. I was like "say no more, this is it". We built this outfit around the coat but added in some over the knee boots and tassel earrings to really give it some punch. This outfit is all about stealing the show when you walk in and is so easy to recreate! Grab a statement jacket (these are surprisingly easy to find right now, either in stores or thrift shopping, cause who doesn't love to "pop some tags"?), tall boots and a fun piece of jewelry and you have your starter kit!
So tell me, what was your favorite look I chose for Amy?
